This policy reflects the controls implemented in the current platform and must be reviewed against the final legal entity, vendors, data flows, and province-specific obligations before production publication.
Current position
MapleFind uses first-party browser storage for essential preference functions. The shipped theme contains no third-party analytics or behavioural advertising scripts. The consent manager is already in place so any later integration must read the visitor’s recorded choice before loading.
Essential storage
Essential local storage remembers Easy Read mode and the current privacy choice. These values stay in the browser and do not identify you to MapleFind by themselves. WordPress may also set essential cookies for signed-in administrators, security, forms, and session functions.
Optional categories
Analytics would measure aggregate site use. Advertising would support advertising measurement or targeting. Both are denied until allowed and neither category currently loads a third-party tool.
Change or withdraw a choice
Open “Privacy choices” in the footer to allow, reject, or revise optional categories. A withdrawn choice takes effect immediately for future loading. You may also clear MapleFind site data in browser settings.
Third-party destinations
Links to business websites, social profiles, WhatsApp, maps, or other services open destinations with their own privacy and storage practices. MapleFind does not load those services into a listing page merely because a link is present.
Official guidance used
The consent interface takes a conservative approach informed by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada’s online behavioural advertising guidance: purposes are presented before optional loading, withdrawal is persistent and immediate, and the service remains usable when optional tracking is declined.
